  • 2nd/3rd/4th Chatsworth Country Fairhttp://www.cottageindustriesassociation.co.uk/diary_detail/19 – Set in the glorious Derbyshire countryside at the home of the Duchess of Devonshire, a terrific day out.

  • 16th/ 17th/18th Houghton Hall Garden Centre Carlisle http://www.klondyke.co.uk/houghton-hall-garden-centre-carlisle – North West’s premier garden centre.

    This is no ordinary store; spread over 3 levels; with the main level home to core gardening, gift shop, clothing, the Topiary Coffee Shop and Laird’s Larder Food Hall; the second floor mezzanine displaying garden furniture and outdoor living and a basement level housing the World in Miniature Museum and attractions including the Craft Shop, Doll’s House Emporium, Hornby, Scalextric and Airfix.

    The outdoor plant area has been created from the original walled kitchen garden of Houghton Hall and is the perfect setting for choosing plants.

    The Laird’s Larder Food Hall offers the finest quality local and regional foods; produce from the Laird’s Larder can be tasted within the Topiary Coffee Shop – the renowned fresh cream cakes are the only way to finish off your visit.

  • 15th Dobbies Garden Centre Chesterfield http://www.dobbies.com/storelocator/store-S031 -This garden centre offers a range of plants, outdoor & indoor furniture, gardening tools & equipment, toys & games, pet care & aquatic items and many more. It also features a farm food hall, restaurant and a coffee bar as well as the shopping mall.
  • 29th / 30th Tatton Park Cheshire http://www.tattonpark.org.uk/ - Another outing and this grandest of grand stately homes.

November

  • 17th/18th/19th/20th The Festive Gift Fair http://www.festivegiftfair.co.uk/

    The largest gift fair in the country. It’s been established for 15 years and attracts over 30,000 visitors. It has the answer to every Christmas gift present poser.

  • 25th/26th/27th Christmas at Capesthorne http://www.capesthorne.com/events

    During the normally closed winter period discover the warmth and ambiance of Christmas at Capesthorne. The visit allows a glimpse through the doors of a family-owned stately home decorated for Christmas. Whilst walking around the house you will be entertained by local musicians, school choirs and there will be an extra special visit from Santa. After pausing to listen to the music the tour takes you upstairs through the house then down into the basement where there is an opportunity to visit craft stalls. There are also more crafts to be seen outside in a marquee. Hot meat rolls, soup, mulled wine and mince pies will be on sale in the Butlers Pantry
